Lori Zimmerman holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Temple University where she graduated with honors and is currently a Pennsylvania certified music teacher. She has over 10 years of full time private teaching experience and over 20 years of performance experience. She was acting Band and String Director at Villa Maria Academy for 4 years. Lori currently holds the office of Vice President of Traveling Musician, a company she built in 2006, and controls and handles all day-to-day operations.
In her youth, Lori studied with various members of the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Philadelphia Ballet. She received the honor of participation in regional and state select orchestras many times and sat concert mistress in her high school and youth orchestras. In college, she dedicated herself to the study of several music education methods, including Gordon, Kodaly, Suzuki, and Orff. In her spare time, she volunteered as a general music teacher conducting music play activities at after school programs in the Philadelphia school district. Lori was an active member of the collegiate PMEA society and was part of the honors program throughout her collegiate career.
Lori currently instructs over 40 piano, string, woodwind, voice, and brass students per week. Her greatest passion is teaching and imparting a love of music to her students. She prides herself on her ability to relate well with students of all ages, learning differences, personality types, and musical goals. Students who study with Lori Zimmerman receive a fantastic technical foundation and an experience that is both educational and enjoyable.
